I have always been a fan of fashion. By the time that I was three I was a dress-aholic. No one could get me into any form of clothing other than a floral dress. Since that time, I have had a bit of a problem: fashion addiction. I love everything from clothes to shoes to jewelry to make-up.
Idk...
Fashion is not style

It's Louboutin, Christian Louboutin?

You may be thinking: what is the significance of the question mark at the end of the phrase?
Well, let's just say that Christian Louboutin in expensive so some people have decided to make their own for of Louboutin in order to sell it for less money but still have the striking red sole on the shoe. Who are the geniuses? Well, I don't really know who they truly are but they call themselves Christian Louboutin Outlet. THEY ARE AMAZING
Of course the quality is not as fantastic as the originally Christian Louboutin, but let me say... They have some pretty nice shoes.
Puurfect for the upcoming and fall and winter months: boots/booties.
I have clocked about 12 hours in the past month just admiring the shoes, buying two pairs, and trying to find jobs in order to buy more of these shoes. Honestly, just look:

One more thing that I love about this site, the shoes are modeled after the original shoes. Yes, there are a few exceptions but they are spin-offs of the originals. So if you were going to buy these shoes, then you would not have to fear that someone would question the authenticity of the shoes. They even have the brand stamp on the inside of the shoes.
Another favorite?

Tell me those do not look real...
There are other places to get these "Louboutins", but this specific store hast he best prices that I have been able to find.
Other places include:
and
-
-
-
A few of the stores do have other high-end brand name shoes as well.
Honestly, if no one know that your shoes are not Louboutin, but they have the red sole...MORE POWER TO YOU. You look 2d4 and people think that you spent a fortune on yours shoes, when in reality you most likely spent less than 30% of the original price. Who doesn't love that?
I don't know. Find me one person, I dare you...

Did you say Undies?

underwear? panties? boxers? briefs? undies?
whatever you call them, most likely when you mention these items of clothing one brand pops into your mind...
CALVIN KLEINDon't be fooled, underwear are the slightest fraction of what Calvin Klein is capable of producing. Of course, their underwear is 2df, but have you seen some of the recent gowns that they produced?
Well I have, and let me say one thing: GORGEOUS
I love how simplicity is the main idea of every piece of art
They do not strive for flashy brand logos (cough cough), they strive for the beauty of the wearer to be magnified by the clothing that they are wearing.

One celeb who always seem too look especially fab in Calvin?
Gwyneth Paltrow
Ingredients to pull off Calvin Klein?

1. True beauty
2. Good legs
and
3. GOOD REPUTATION (otherwise some might get confused as to why all of a sudden you decide to be classy)

Keepin' it classy with Calvin

Your Coco, Miss Chanel

CHANEL--
What do you think when you hear this name?
I think ICON.
COCO CHANEL the mother of fashion. She truly is an icon. The Chanel brand as a whole is so distinguishable.
When I walk into Chanel, I feel my blood pumping. I am in the baby of Coco (not literally obviously, that would be gross).

When I first learned about Chanel, my mind automatically clung to an image of a sophisticated older woman in a tweed, multi-colored, yet very tasteful blazer. To this day, my initial image has not changed much. But as I start to think more intently on the subject I feel overwhelmed with how much the brand has been able to change with current styles, yet still sustain its classy and unmistakable style.

From the old style:

to the current Chanel that somehow manages to rule almost every red-carpet event out there:
(most likely rocked by Miss Lively)

Chanel has been able to catch the public's attention time and tim again...
One day, I will buy Chanel like it is no one's business

My hat is off to you, Coco

Never Been Marchesa-d

When applying to colleges, writing the dreaded college essay is a huge part of the process. And while reading over the prompts given it makes me wonder about my future and my life. The specific prompt that really makes me think about my life is the essay topic focusing on 'a person's biggest achieved goal' (or something along those lines). So what is my biggest achieved goal? I couldn't help but wonder is there one thing that we can label as the most significant thing a person has done is their lifetime? Doing my sister's makeup for prom? No. Making the basketball team? No. Surviving physics? Again, no. So of course I start to wonder... if I haven't had one big achievement that I really consider significant what will I consider a big achievement in the future? While rummaging through a couple of magazines I find my answer!
The day that I can buy for myself a Marchesa dress will be the day that I have actually 'made it' and the day that I will have something that shows that my hard work has really paid off. It will mean many things to me: 1. I have enough money to afford such a dress, 2. I have an event to wear it to, 3. I have the lifestyle of a person with fabulous people to admire my fabulous purchase.
My favorite Spring 2011 creation by Marchesa is the "Pearl stain chiffon strapless dress with train and hand painted floral illustrations"

This hauntingly beautiful dress actually took my breath away when I saw it. I believe that the contrast of the mini, tight, wrap bodice with the wispy, long train is just so eye catching and that it is mouth watering. I will give up food and cotillion and nail polish along with accessories for a year for this dress. Whatever it takes. Imagine senior prom is this beautiful gown...
My ultimate dream? Getting married in one of Marchesa's bridal gowns. There are two dress from the recent collections that really catch my eye and make me yearn for the day that I will walk down the aisle.
From the Spring 2012 collection the eye-catcher is...
Josephine

And the dress that I believe is one of the most gorgeous wedding gowns made to date is...
The from the Spring 2011 collection, Addison: "strapless lace gown with sculpted lace detail"...

Maybe for my college essay I will write about my love for Marchesa...?
That idea might need a little more working on, but maybe something could come out of it.

New York, New York

The truth is that although I am a Texan girl at heart, I am a sucker for the bright lights, noisy traffic, and enormous amount of fashion that resides in the wonderful city of New York. Within the next couple of days I will be in New York, aka the place where I am supposed to live. I have been watching any type of movie that has anything to do with New York, everything from Elf to Down with Love. Not to mention the obviously overwhelming intake of Gossip Girl that I consume. Perhaps on my trip to New York I will find the thing that I am most searching for: a college in NEW YORK. My never-ending pursuit for the perfect college in the perfect city is hopefully coming to end. But, how can I find the first possible love of my life with a bad outfit? I can't! I must look absolutely wonderful while in the city of Fashion.
Since it is still summer, and although the heat in New York will not be as crazy as the heat in Texas at this point in time, I will still need to dress summery yet sophisticated.
I do have many ideas...
Is it wrong to wear a formal dress around New York City?
I hope not because I found the most amazing dress from the Elie Saab 2011 Fall Couture Collection (Elie Saab=my fashion guru). If only I could wear his wonderful creations constantly.
I can see myself now, exiting the plane is this to-die-for gown.

The new collection is too beautiful and too bountiful to talk about every piece of art in great detail. Along with the point that the main purpose of this post is to talk about the love of my life, New York City.
I can't wait to be under those bright lights, staring at my future life.
Along with visiting some family, I will be touring Columbia, NYU and Fordham. Hopefully, I will find bliss and fashion on one of those college campuses.
During my time in New York I will be hopelessly in a sea full of day dreaming of the day when my love of Fashion and New York will meet in a school (hopefully).
I wish that I will get the opportunity to channel my inner Blair Waldorf/Serena van der Woodsen while in New York.
Maybe I will even find the perfect occasion to wear this dress...

It's That Time Again

There are about four months until Senior Cotillion so I realized that this should be around the right time that I should start freaking out about my dress and shoes. There are just so many choices to chose from. I could go for more of an edgy feel, classic twist, or pure innocence in my dress, but the most pressing issue? MAKING SURE THAT I DO NOT HAVE THE SAME DRESS AS ANY OTHER GIRL. (Along with the overwhelming idea of finding a date.) But something I have never been comfortable with is sharing the EXACT fashion ideas or look as another person. I do not mind if we are dressed similarly but matching outfits just get under my skin. That must have sprung from my constant matchy-matchy style with my sister that I had when I was younger. Anyways, if a person decides to copy me.... WOOHOO, BUT they must add their own twist to my idea because clothing is a way of SELF expression....
Tangents....
COTILLION...
Date: October 29, 2011
Dress: Formal Evening Attire
Boy: Good Question
Designer: I wish I knew
There are so many choices to the dress of choice that I have been considering. Some of the contenders include....

One of my favorites from a recent Nightcap Clothing collection. Found on The Trend Boutique

Another contender from The Trend Boutique.... The Naven Bombshell Dress in Mellow Yellow

And last but CERTAINLY not least...
This beautiful navy Contrarian Bib Dress
Previously rocked by Katie Holmes in navy and Taylor Swift in lilac
Also found on The Trend Boutique

All of these dress both hold different and essential styles that I adore.
The first dress is a dress that I have been coveting for a while now and the black lace along with the deep v-neck are so absolutely intriguing and elegantly edgy. The deep v-neck with is off-put by the 1/2 sleeves shows the versatility of the dress which is a factor I love. It makes me think that I could dress it up with some hot heels or I could even make it more serious with a blazer. This is something that will definitely be thought of in my decision making.
The second dress is so bright that it is hard to take my eyes off of it. I love that the color is bright but it is definitely not a "highlighter yellow" so it is definitely bearable to look at. The short, tight build of dress is just absolutely charming. I feel that the dress is very girly but the v-neck also makes it have a sort of sexy feel to it. Although not many people can pull off yellow, I think that this yellow is definitely a good example of when people can pull off yellow. But the only thing that is holding me back from buying this dress this instance is the fact of when cotillion actually is. It is in the end of October, definitely the time of fall territory so the yellow might be too summery for the event.
The last dress is a dress I recently discovered and I fell in love with immediately. I am the type of girl who love anything with an interesting back, and the back to this dress is, well, non-existent. I LOVE. The contrast of the tighter top half and the tu-tu-esk feel of the bottom half are to-die-for. The color is sooo rich and beautiful that I feel the dress could be worn during almost any season.
The ultimate decision will be hard, but hopefully as the date comes closer and closer it will become clear to me which dress I truly want!
If only I were an Upper East-Sider with all the money in the world to spend on clothes, shoes, and accessories.
To be honest, if I could have any dress in the world for my Senior Cotillion it would definitely be the masterpiece of a dress by Marchesa previously mentioned in another post, worn by Blake Lively in a recent episode of Gossip Girl (Season 4, Petty in Pink).

Hmmmmm... A girl can dream. If only, if only...
I will keep you dolls posted on which I decide!

Not so fashion oriented

Not knowing which way is up and down is one of symptoms synonymous with being infatuated with a specific fashion.

Gossip Girl Fashion is the thing that is making me go absolutely crazy now!
During my free time I try to wrap my head around the amount of amazing fashion sense of the actors and actresses of the CW's hit show Gossip Girl. I had searched endlessly to find a site that would fulfill my hopes and dreams to know where every piece of clothing came from. And once or twice I thought...what the... there is no way I could find a site like that! Boy, was I wrong! Gossip Girl Fashion has conquered that task beautifully! It is now my go-to site after drooling over the latest GG episode. My favorite recent outfit?

The dress along with the starfish cuff is 2d4! The outfit is definitely one of the best this season! Blake Lively is able to pull off the dress perfectly! On that note, who has seen Blake's new red hued locks? ME! And I personally love them! They are flirty and to be completely honest anything that Blake tries to pull off she can. The red in her locks make her eyes pop EVEN MORE.
in honor of the Gossip Girl reference....
xoxo
